Northwich Lifesaving Club Crewe Competition

Posted by Josie Lawton on 13 June 2017

On Saturday 10th June 2017 Northwich Lifesaving Club took 14 of its members to represent the club at the Liverpool Branch, Crewe Competition.

Most were competing for the first time.

We had competitors aged 9yrs to 17yrs attending this year.

The events were Life support, Rope throw, Swim & Tow and Pool Incident.

We came away with 3 gold medals, 1 silver and 2 bronze.

We are particularly proud of our Rookies – It is scary to try to rescue 10 adults from a pool when you are only 10yrs old. Well done Declan and Finley.

The new competitors performed extremely well – they conquered their nerves – you need to keep a steady hand and cool head to coil and throw a rope 10m accurately.

It was great to see the new teams working so well together – it bodes well for the Nationals in September – keep working hard.

Lifesaver of the night goes to Sam (aged 12) who swam in the 15yrs+ age group and towed big sister Holly 50m.
